AMi elegantly discovers the exciting journey of transforming mundane spaces into inspiring and breathtaking nooks. Planning, designing and effectively executing ideas that suit the space and reflect creativity of art are of chief importance. Design, for Al Maimoon Interior, lies in the details and it believes in making it all matter.

Dose Of Colour
French practice Atelier Sagitta has added a dose of colour
to this previously characterless apartment in the Paris suburbs by creating an
almost entirely green kitchen.
The apartment is set inside a recently-built residential
development in the Clichy neighbourhood, in the north-west of the city.
Its owner – a young art director who works in the music industry
– had bought the property as a largely empty shell, so approached local
architects Atelier Sagitta to "bring a touch of originality" to the
kitchen area which sits at the centre of the floor plan.
He specified that the architects should also incorporate a
dining table in the kitchen in order to free up space in the adjacent living
area.
With this in mind, the architects decided to paint the
kitchen cabinetry, ceiling, and peripheral walls a bold shade of emerald green,
mimicking the colour of the original laminate countertop that had been in the
apartment upon purchase.
The architect had also been loosely influenced by an
apartment they previously renovated in Paris' 17th arrondissement, which
featured a forest green cooking area.
A pair of grooved oakwood volumes that contain extra
cupboards have been inserted on one side of the kitchen, which were crafted by
the client's long-term friend and cabinet maker Michel Mazué. These form an
L-shaped layout, allowing room for a round table and two chairs – the stool
seats have been completed in a slate grey to match the colour of the kitchen's
floor tiles.
Atelier Sagitta are among a handful of practices and
designers to create vibrant colour-block kitchens for clients – earlier this
year Reform hacked standard IKEA cabinets to form an all-gold kitchen for the
Copenhagen headquarters of fashion label Stine Goya.
London-based studio Henning Stummel also added an entirely
orange cooking area to a house in Shephard's Bush, referencing its russet steel
facade.

The Taste (Home Tour)
Project Details
Client's Name: Mr Mufaddal Kachwala
Category: Residential Project
Location: Nasik, Maharashtra
Principle Designer: Husain Kachwala
Project Concept
As one enters the house, s/he is warmly greeted by a beautiful mixture of elements of nature, granite, laminate and fresh air - all adding to the aesthetic appeal of the house. In this project, AMi has completely balanced nature with modern yet contemporary interior. The use of minimal low height furniture helps to present a relatively free visual field hence creating a strong visual impact. An earthy palette is used to create a warm ambience.
The house sees a classy and modern double-door entry - the doors adorned in an exquisite veneer finish laminate. The outside door has meticulously carved out square holes ensuring perfectly free flow of air through the safety door and the French windows of the living room.
The photographs hold immense importance for the client, & the designer has done total justice, incorporating them within the larger picture. The client's son being a cricketer, he wanted his passion to be clearly reflected throughout the interiors. The cricket bats, therefore, form a unique artefact. The potted plants on the granite table top add a natural element to the space. The 5 frame set on the wall on the left creates a visual impression by their colours & decent placement.
The living room - the harbinger of classy elegance - is spacious and provides ample space for family interaction and allows it to be just the right place to sit back and relax. The Great Mosque of Imam-al-Haakim in Cairo, Egypt, perks up the wall, imparting a very earthy rustic feel to the room. The warm colours & the strategic use of lights to accentuate the decor elements ensure a contemporary feel of the place - making the house a home.
The modest showcase brimming with some antique artifacts, keeping the spirit of the religion alive & its integration with the son's cricket accolades is an eye-catching spot. The back panel of the TV unit is a cube of 16 squares, as if they are the pieces of a broken bark arranged vertically & horizontally; the granite shelf and the multiple drawers is a sleek example of efficient space planning.
AMi emphasises on quality & workmanship, & believes in making a design concept functional, economic, practical & aesthetically pleasing in synchronization with the environment. The firm is looking forward to engaging in designing & execution of residential, commercial & turnkey projects.
